Feb. 7th, 2023

Today's prompt is about 2023 debut authors, but aside from Becca Kinzer and Rebekah Millet, I haven't heard much about new authors in the Christian fiction realm. However, I loved Becca's book and am really looking forward to Rebekah's release in October, so please go check them out!

For the rest of my post, here's a list of previous debut novels that I've really enjoyed. All of these authors are now well established, and maybe you've missed some of their earlier works. These are worth reading, though! I hope you'll look into them.

Heiress of Winterwood "Heiress of Winterwood" by Sarah E. Ladd
This Regency romance features an unmarried heroine who is the guardian of a baby. Can you imagine a Jane Austen character parenting an infant?! The twist grabbed me from the moment I heard about it.

Sixty Acres and a Brde "Sixty Acres and a Bride" by Regina Jennings
I enjoy a good retelling, and this takes the book of Ruth and plants it in 1870s Texas. This is an engaging read that made me an immediate fan of this author.

A Distant Melody "A Distant Melody" by Sarah Sundin
Sarah Sundin is the queen of WWII fiction, and her debut shows off her strong storytelling ability and meticulous research.

Flabbergasted "Flabbergasted" by Ray Blackston
One of my favorite novels ever. So zany, but so deep and refreshing.

A Tailor-Made Bride "A Tailor-Made Bride" by Karen Witemeyer
Misunderstanding and presumptions make for a tale loaded with fun twists and turns! I'm always in line to read Karen Witemeyer's next Texas romance.

Made To Last "Made to Last" by Melissa Tagg
TV personality Miranda Woodruff has a secret, and a down-on-his-luck reporter is determined to win back his boss's favor by exposing it.

Falling on Main Street "Falling on Main Street" by Tara Grace Ericson
Two people are both hiding, but from very different things. Can they find healing together?

Lady Jayne Disappears "Lady Jayne Disappears" by Joanna Davidson Politano
For years Aurelie helped her father write under his pen name while he languished in debtor's prison. Now she's trying to finish his final tale—if she's not silenced first.

Dear Mr. Knightley "Dear Mr. Knightley" by Katherine Reay
Orphaned Samantha grew up taking solace in the pages of classic literature. Now she's been granted a key to her dream future, with the stipulation that she write regularly to her anonymous benefactor.

Counted Among The Stars "Counted With the Stars" by Connilyn Cossette
An Egyptian slave witnesses the events leading up to the Exodus—and decides to leave behind her whole world on a quest to know the One True God.
