"The Orchard House" by Heidi Chiavaroli

Taylor's troubled childhood receives some stability when she's adopted by her best friend Victoria's family. But will being sisters enhance their relationship, or make it more difficult?

In the other half of this split-time women's fiction, the sister of a soldier who was nursed by Louisa May Alcott during the Civil War corresponds with the famous author and eventually moves to Concord to help the Alcotts during one of Louisa's trips. 

Life, love, and tragedy follow Taylor, Victoria, and Johanna as their lives intertwine with Louisa May Alcott's—whether that's Johanna actually befriending the author, or Taylor and Victoria being bound together by their home near Orchard House.

This book drew me for several reasons. I visited Orchard House when I was a teenager and I've always treasured that memory, as Louisa May Alcott and Little Women have a special place in my heart. Also, every main character in this book was an author or aspiring author, which was a nice surprise relatability factor. In addition, I applaud the author for tackling some very tough issues in this story. Altogether, if you enjoy split-time novels, women's fiction, or just want a story that involves Louisa May Alcott, I would recommend The Orchard House to you.
