Ten Characters I'd Name A Pet After

Topics like these are so fun! If I had a pet, is there a book character I'd name them after? A few came to mind. 🙂
In no particular order...
1. Lady Catherine from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
I've been spending a lot of time with my brother's cat Alex the past two months, and I've found myself thinking that if Alex was a girl I'd have to rename him to Lady Catherine, because he must have his share of the conversation. He always wants to know what you're up to!
2. Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I mean, this name was made for a cat—it has "Kat" right there! Actually, it was made for a brave female character I admire a lot, so it would be natural to name a pet after her.
3. Evangeline from More Than Meets The Eye by Karen Witemeyer
If one of my pets had heterochromia, I'd have to consider giving her the same name as the spunky heroine who had the condition.
4. Mr. Nobley from Austenland by Shannon Hale
True confessions: I like the movie more than the book, but I would certainly name a pet after the charming and sarcastic hero.
5. Dash from Set the Stars Alight by Amanda Dykes
I found Dash to be a sweet and touching character, and his name stood out from the sea of usual hero names. Plus it could be fitting in other ways, depending on your pet's personality.
6. Henry from When You Look At Me by Pepper Basham
If your male pet was gentle and shy, Henry would a great moniker. I absolutely adored this quiet hero.
7. Ty Porter from Meant To Be Mine by Becky Wade
On the other hand, if your pet had a strong, stubborn, yet undeniably lovable personality, this would be an appropriate choice. And I would definitely use his first and last name.
8. Sebastian Parker Pierce III from One Enchanted Noel by Melissa Tagg
This name just has a ring to it. Though since I wouldn't want to completely rob Seb of his name, I would probably opt for Sebastian Parker Pierce IV.
9 and 10. Margot or Drake from The Number of Love by Roseanna M. White
If your pet was incredibly smart, I could think of no better namesakes than the hero and heroine in the first book of the Codebreakers series. Margot for a girl, Drake for a boy.
