Here's something you may not know about me: I'm not a fast reader.
But Erin, you run a book review blog and read several dozen books each year!
Yes, that's true. But it's not because I can speed-read, and it's certainly not because I have large blocks of time for reading. (Hahahahaha, if only!) It's because I love reading, and I make time for it where I can. I read in quiet moments at school. I read in the drive-thru line. I read my Kindle on the treadmill. I even sometimes listen to audiobooks while I'm in the shower! I've found ways to maximize my limited reading time, and it works for me.
However, if I did have all the time in the world, these are ten books that held me in their grip so tightly that I could have finished them in one go.

Oh. My. The suspense! When you're in witness protection but fall in love with a public figure, your life could be on the line.

This was the first time I read Jody Hedlund, and I was not prepared to be so completely absorbed into her historical fiction world. Now I know to expect it, but wow, I could barely put this one down!

Julia and Henry. 😍 These may be two of the sweetest introverts you'll ever meet in Christian fiction, but their story kept me turning pages as quickly as I could. I love these two!

This book is almost 14 hours long in its audio format. I listened at 1.25x speed—and almost managed to play the whole thing in one day! I really enjoyed Celia as a character, and Ty Porter is Ty Porter. If you know it, you know it.

Oh, Abigail and Zach! Here you have what is for me an unbeatable combination: a heroine I relate to, and a wounded hero in need of healing. It's hard to pick a favorite Witemeyer book, but I think it might be this one.

I took this book with me on a trip, and I literally had to force myself to stop reading so I wouldn't miss other things going on. My favorite frontier novel, hands down.

The predicament Rowena and Brice found themselves in made me want to rush through the pages as quickly as possible to find out if they made it through okay, and if they found love in the process.

I was 18 years old when 9/11 happened. This fictional account of the intersection of different lives on that fateful day and its aftermath had me absolutely riveted.

After being attacked and left for dead, Candi faces further brutal choices and life-changing decisions with the help of her caring brother and his best friend. This one had me hooked solidly throughout.

No matter how many times I read this novel, Jay Jarvis and his unlikely journey to faith brings delight to my senses. Whether I'm turning the pages or listening to the wonderful audiobook narrated by Andrew Peterson, the coasts of South Carolina and the jungles of Ecuador come alive in vibrant, laugh-out-loud ways.
