This week we're talking about spring cleaning, and in the book blogging world that makes me think of giveaways. This time of year you can often find people making room on their shelves, weeding out books they might have two copies of or looking to rehome some lovely books for one reason or another. True facts: I've never been someone with a lot of disposable income, not even for books! But I before I became a book blogger, I used to win book giveaways all the time. I've won quite a few in recent years, too. Unfortunately, this isn't a giveaway post so I'm not offering the books below to you, but if any of them look interesting, I hope you'll check them out.

The Sword of Lyric series The Sword of Lyric series by Sharon Hinck
Many moons ago, I won the first three books in this series and they became an instant favorite. I've reread them multiple times, I bought the fourth book when it came out, and I've given them as gifts. I just love these books! Weary soccer mom Susan accidentally falls through a portal into another world, and discovers her life has more purpose and a deeper calling than she could ever imagine.

Mars Hill Classified The Mars Hill Classified series by Austin Boyd
This is another series I've read multiple times, and as a science fiction fan, I wish there were more books like these out there! Part political thriller, part sci-fi, and 100% Christian fiction. Join astronaut John as he lives on the International Space Station and is one of the first to colonize Mars, while terrorist attacks and other things are happening on Earth. These are fun and fascinating reads!

Secrets of Paper and Ink "The Secrets of Paper and Ink" by Lindsay Harrel
Here's another confession: until this book, I didn't really like split-time novels. 😲 I know, I know! But when I won this book, with its gorgeous cover and alluring title, I waded in with trepidation—only to discover one of my favorite books of that year. Two contemporary women and one Victorian governess have their stories play out on these pages, and I absolutely loved it.

Enchanted "Enchanted: A Christmas Collection" by Melissa Tagg
I actually bought each of these three novellas—One Enchanted Christmas, One Enchanted Eve, and One Enchanted Noel—in ebook as they were released, because Melissa Tagg is one of my favorite authors. When she released the collection in paperback, I could never quite justify buying it for myself, though I have bought it as a gift for others. Then I won it in a giveaway and it's a happy addition to my shelf.

Meant for Her "Meant for Her" by Joy Avery Melville
Joy and I met in an authors group, and we've prayed for each other's writing for a long time. I won a giveaway when her debut was released, and wow, it was one of those books that I had to speed-read in order to find out what happened to those characters. It's a deep, impactful story involving traumatic events and difficult life decisions.

Daughter of Rome "Daughter of Rome" by Tessa Afshar
I desperately wanted to read this novel, inspired and based on the Biblical couple Priscilla and Aquila, but I couldn't fit it into my review schedule when it was released. I was thrilled to win a copy, and I still desperately want to read it. Just need more reading hours in my day!

A Date for Daisy "A Date for Daisy" by Tara Grace Ericson
Tara is a local writing friend, and I've enjoyed each of her stories that I've been able to read. I hope to get to the rest of her Bloom Sisters novels soon, a goal made all the easier because this one came to me via a giveaway.

The White City "The White City" by Grace Hitchcock
I've been interested in Barbour's True Colors true crime series since its inception—this very novel in 2019. Though I've read the most recent releases in this series, I haven't made it back to the beginning yet. Each book is a standalone so that works in one sense, but I still look forward to getting to this one when I have the opportunity.

The Curse of the Misty Wayfair "The Curse of the Misty Wayfair" by Jaime Jo Wright
This is an author I've been wanting to read for a while, and I'm glad to have this book waiting for me on my Kindle. Jaime Jo Wright writes split-time suspense thrillers, and even though that's not my usual genre, I'm excited to try it at least once.

Like a Christmas Dream "Like a Christmas Dream" by Lindsay Harrel
After the release of the aforementioned The Secrets of Paper and Ink, Lindsay has released a couple Christmas novellas set in her fictional Cornwall town of Port Willis. It's fun to revisit a place that has claimed a literary piece of your heart.
