Here's a true thing: I actually don't read many books due to recommendations. 😲 I tend to stick with authors I know, or if I branch out it's to try someone I hear a lot of general buzz about. Not following through on recommendations is generally a matter of time—I simply don't have enough to read all I would like. But here are some I was able to read, and would in turn recommend them to you. 😊
"The Lady and the Lionheart" by Joanne BischofThis book was so highly recommended by author Melissa Tagg that my friend Samantha bought it, and then she let me borrow it. The circus has never been more heart-stirring!
The Ladies of the Manor series by Roseanna M. White Historical fiction is never a hard sell for me. When my friend Susan recommended these books and then I found the first one on sale at the bookstore, I picked up. And I've read every Roseanna White new release since!
The Mars Hill Classified series by Austin BoydWhen my friend Tami had her book blog, she hosted a giveaway for this trilogy. I actually love good sci-fi when I can find it, and this certainly fits the bill. Christian fiction about astronauts? I wish there was more!
"Emily of Deep Valley" by Maud Hart LovelaceSomehow I missed this classic literature gem when I was younger. When my friend Samantha suggested it for our book group, I gave it a try—and fell in love with the inspirational Emily as I watched her overcome her challenges.
"The Penderwicks" by Jeanne BirdsallThis was another suggestion for our book group, this time from Samantha's sister Anna. I really enjoyed this tale of four sisters, and I'm still trying to find time to read the rest of the series!
The Sisters of the Quilt series by Cindy WoodsmallOne of my friends is a very picky reader. When she recommended Cindy Woodsmall's books, I knew they had to be legit. I read her Sisters of the Quilt series, and have indeed gone on to read and enjoy many more of Cindy's books.
