Merry Christmas, my friends! Pictured above is a book tree I made in 2012. I'd love to make another (and bigger!) one sometime, as it was so lovely.

This Christmas season has been a little odd for me. Thanksgiving was so late, the school calendar ran long, my sister got married, there was the usual flurry of church-related activities, and it has simply been a difficult year. I haven't done as many Christmas-y things as usual because my time and energy have been limited. This week I'm spending lots of time with family and remembering the true Reason we celebrate. It's not too late to slow down and spend some time worshiping the Babe who came to earth so He could redeem mankind unto Himself.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17

I look forward to our Christmas Eve service at church tonight, as well as our family plans tomorrow and Thursday. I hope you are experiencing the joy of the season! And I hope you'll come back later this week, as I talk about my favorite books from 2019.
