Even as someone who loves books and has a large collection of them, some are more special than others. I'm sure many of you can relate! So the reason these below are ones I keep close to home is not for any bad or embarrassing reason, it's just because I find them extra valuable in one way or another.

This zany book came to me at just the right moment in my life several years ago. It meant so much to me that I bought my own hardback copy and penned a forward in my own hand on the flyleaf. I might loan you my paperback copy, but not that personalized hardback one!

These childhood favorites are not out of print, but they feel like such a cross-section of some of my favorite things that I like to know they are nearby. They are funny, they're about basketball and friendship and faith, they have a western setting, and contain some of my favorite fictional characters ever written.

This is changing a bit with the way the publishing industry operates these days, but for a long time I would only read authors in whatever format I discovered them. I found Melissa via Kindle, and this is still how I first read her new releases, but I love her books so much that I really wanted paperback copies for my shelves. I'm slowly collecting them - as you can see, my Walker Family collection is complete! I'm still waiting to get some others. Fondness and the length of time I've put into adding these to my personal library means I'd have to reeeeaalllly like someone to loan them out. 😉
All of these are wonderful favorites that I highly recommend, but please don't ask to borrow my own copies! 😉😄
