 True to You

Nora Bradford's life is going along pretty well. It's tidy and in control. Maybe it's not overly exciting to be a genealogist and librarian, not to mention running your own historical village, but there's not much pain and heartbreak, either. She's already had enough of that. But then she meets John Lawson and her entire world tilts.

A recent shocking diagnosis has led John to begin searching for his birth mother. He hasn't had much success, but he hopes his chance meeting with Nora will change that. Maybe she can unlock the mystery and bring him closer to finding his origins.

As Nora and John work together, lots of unexpected things await them along the way. As we discover the depths of these two characters, we also get to know Nora's sisters Willow and Britt, who will have their own upcoming novels in the Bradford Sisters Romance series.

I have to say that this is not a novel I would recommend for readers under age 18. There is a great deal of focus on outward appearances - handsome faces, perfect outfits, and the like. There are plenty of comments both in the narrative and spoken by the characters that made this more conservative reader rather uncomfortable. I would recommend discernment for this and all reading choices.

My favorite part of the story was Nora's obsession with a certain BBC period drama, which was incredibly relatable for those of us who are fond of dramas from across the pond. I was also taken by surprise at the depth of the spiritual journeys that our characters go on towards the end of the story. If you like snappy romance, this is one you will probably enjoy!
